Prodrive
Prodrive is the world’s largest independent motor racing and automotive engineering company.
Prodrive is one of the world’s leading motorsport and automotive technology businesses, employing 800 people at operations in the UK, Thailand and Australia.
Prodrive works with vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers to help them create cars consumers want. The company was formed in 1984.
Headed by former World Champion Rally co-driver David Richards, Prodrive’s global motor racing activities include the World Sportscars and V8 Supercars.
In motorsport, Prodrive is probably best known for it’s engineering of the Subaru World Rally program that turned drivers such as Colin McRae and Richard Burns into household names, having won six World Rally Titles. The company has also won five British Touring Car Championships with BMW, Alfa Romeo and Ford and three class wins at Le Mans, with Aston Martin Racing, along with a privately-backed Ferrari team.
In 2011, the company re-entered the World Rally Championship fray with the MINI World Rally Team. Competing in select events, the Prodrive led team is establishing itself for a full tilt at the 2012 Championship.
Ford Performance Racing and Ford Performance Vehicles are the spearhead of the company’s operations in Australasia.
