Positive Pre-Enduro Test Day for Orrcon Steel drivers

Mark Winterbottom and Steve Richards enjoyed a positive pre-enduro test day with co-drivers Luke Youlden and James Moffat at the Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria earlier this week.

Winterbottom, who will pair with Youlden in the #5 Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon for the upcoming endurance races, believes the day provided a number of encouraging signs for next weekend’s L&H 500 at Phillip Island.

“It was great to get back in the car again after the seven week break since Townsville,” said Winterbottom.

“While the day was more about both Luke and I getting comfortable in the Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon we tried a couple of upgraded components and I’m really looking forward to Phillip Island next weekend.”

Richards, a veteran of 175 V8 Supercar Championship events, will pair with Moffat next weekend who will be making his debut in the ‘main game’ aboard the Orrcon Steel-backed #6 Dunlop Super Dealer FPR Falcon.

Like his team-mate, Richards is confident the test day will assist the team in gaining a strong result at Phillip Island.

“The pre-enduro test day is exactly that – a real focus on the enduro side of things. It’s about making sure everything goes right for both drivers and that the development parts get enough miles,” said Richards.

“It was a good day with both James and I getting plenty of miles. The car ran faultlessly throughout the day and we’ve got some slick driver changes going on – all is looking good.”
